1,000 words = SPN

I'm on a roll with this whole Supernatural thing. First of all, Season One's 5th episode scared the crap out of me last night. It's my own fault for watching it all alone in the dark... It was the 'Bloody Mary' episode. *shivers* First one to genuinely creep me out - I've always had a fear of mirrors in the dark. Great stuff, though! :)

With this in mind, I've decided to turn Supernatural into a reward for writing. I'll have to do this, otherwise there's a danger I'll just burn through the rest of Season One and forget I'm supposed to be writing a first draft by the end of January. For every 1,000 words I write from now on, I can watch one episode of SPN goodness. I think that's pretty fair. So on a very good writing day, that means I can watch two episodes back-to-back. I started last night after I'd squeezed out 1,001 words (just made it).

The more words I write, the more I get to see of the Winchester brothers...


OMG... Must. Write. Faster.

I *love* that idea! My parents got us hooked on Supernatural when they gave us Season 1 for Christmas last year. That Bloody Mary episode scared the cr@p out of me - I have a thing about mirrors anyway, and ZOMG, I couldn't wash my face that night! I made Husband stand in the bathroom doorway... he laughed his head off the whole time, but I was really scared! o.0

(Also, I have a crush on Dean.)

Since I like things you like ... I should check out this series.

I started watching Season One of "Dexter" over the weekend, due to a bunch of people raving about it.

I burned through the two discs I had ... but somehow, I don't think I will Netflix the rest. I like DARK ... but this is really dark.

I knew I'd like this series, and from what I hear it just gets better as it goes along - especially second half of season 1 and all of season 2.

Re. Dexter - I've never seen it, but I love the guy in it (he was in Six Feet Under, right?). I think I'd like it, but I'll have to see quite how dark it is... I know what you mean. :)

Either way, I just see that picture and go, "Why is Dean in a car with some random guy when he should be Dosey's Market?" (I am a TOTAL Gilmore Girls nut)

Ever since I was a kid and me and my friends would do that thing where you have to say the Hail Mary backwards in front of a mirror at midnight. By candlelight. Yeah, I was brought up catholic. ;P Even now I get creeped out if I see reflections in a mirror in the dark.

I was raised Roman Catholic so I hear ya. I don't like looking at mirrors in the dark for that reason -- the reflections. And that niggling voice in your head that says, "WHAT IF THE REFLECTION ISN'T YOURS?"

That sounds like a great idea for a reward. :) I'm kind of doing the same with my online school work. I promised myself a computer game for my laptop that I can play when I have my Christmas break. :) It's for going back to school and working hard. I might even do some writing as a treat as well. :) Happy writing Karen. :)

What a fantastic idea. I've been feeling the itch to watch my Buffy DVDs. I think doing this reward thing will be perfect. If I write 1k, I can watch a Buffy episode. Yay! Thanks Karen. :)

That's a good idea. Supernatural is totally addictive. I am doing something similar, I just ordered the season 2 DVDs and I am only letting myself watch them in a teeny tiny window while doing some mind numbing work that I have been putting off for ages. It stops me leaving the computer every 10 minutes because counting scratches is so boring.
