Being Human...

...coming soon to BBC three in the UK. A vampire trying to give up blood (Mitchell) and a werewolf with a day job as a hospital porter (George) move into a flat haunted by a ghost (Annie). In Bristol. *g*

I love how urban fantasy is slowly sneaking onto British TV.

OMIGOD, I hope BBC America gets this.

I loved Hex and Bill and I watched show about the psychologist played by hunky Andrew Lincoln and the psychic Lesley whatshername, that show was awesome, until they didn't show the second season here in the states which sucked anyway.

I"m rambling...

I watched some of Afterlife - very good! Andrew Lincoln's been one of my favourite actors since This Life. :)

I was pissed when they didn't show that second season, especially how it ended. Medium. Wasn't that it?

LOL, starting? They had a werewolf series, female werewolf in London sort of thing that I used to love. It was called She Wolf of London. Very good :) British show. It was back in 1991. Of course they haven't had a lot since then, but you know...

Oh and I'm very sad. Apparently your preview is "not available in my area." w/e that means. I'll keep pushing buttons. I want to see it.

Oh, bugger. That's probably because this is from the BBC's website - maybe it's only available in the UK. I'll go look on YouTube. Cheers.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!

Ok, so these are the times I wish I had cable or some way to watch this. Is is possibly going to be online!?! Ah, that's ok... if it does well, America will steal it and copy it soon enough, right? I mean, that's where we got half our game shows, movies and The Office, right? :)

Thanks for sharing!

Niiiice!
Right up my alley. Vamps, werewolves and GHOSTS! Nice!

Now...hopefully BBC America will get it, or poor Helen will have a whole lot to record! Ha! As it is we have to wait for the new Doctor Who season! Argh!

...and what ever happened to Robin Hood?!?

You know that tag is how they sold the show to the BBC. It has to be.

Curse you, BBC! Why can US TV have 37 shows about ordinary losers trying to sing or dance their way to fame, but not a single show about a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost being roommates? Why!

Grrr....so jealous now.

I want more werewolf TV shows. We had WEREWOLF back in the late 80s. And, of course, SHE-WOLF OF LONDON (didn't know that was BBC, though). Man, did I have such a huge crush on Kate Hodge...

I never watched SHE-WOLF OF LONDON. You're the second person to mention that. Must investigate... :)

Generally, I probably watch more US tv than British, but I think we're finally getting better. Doctor Who (of course) and Torchwood (which makes me laugh), and um... Robin Hood, that's pretty good. Spooks... I haven't watched much of that, though.

This is great news. 2009 seems a great year for fantasy and UF series and 2008 wasn't too shabby either. *Adds one more tv show to the list*

I loved the first bit we saw ... I can't remember when it was on exactly, but I'm thinking it was a long while ago. I am truly chuffed that these shows are getting more of a look-in. I think the UK tv producers have realised that all the shows being bought over from the States have got elements of the supernatural to them and we're lapping it up! About time they got their heads rattled to give us some good shows. I still reserve my opinion about Demons tho!
[info]kaz_mahoney wrote:
Jan. 12th, 2009 05:16 pm (UTC)
Yes, there was a pilot, but a lot of the actors different. I think the werewolf guy, George, is the same... It was pretty good back then, but I think the 6-part series has even more potential. :)

Yeah, the Brits are jumping on the supernatural/UF bandwagon. Yay! I haven't watched Demons yet - I've got it recorded, though.
