First of all, I am horribly behind on replying to comments - Real Life has been getting in the way! But I will get to them all over the next couple of days. I appreciate hearing from everyone so much - especially re. the job situation. Thanks. :)
Secondly, I have mailed half of the prizes for my 8 Days of Christmas giveaway - thank you for your patience. Days 5-8 will be mailed shortly. Sorry for the delay - again, pesky Real Life Stuff.
Finally, I guest-blogged over at Teen Book Review today, with more about what inspires me to write YA. There is also a Very Cool giveaway. Yeah, me giving away books... who would've thought it? ;) Thanks to Jocelyn for letting me take over her corner of the web for a while. Teen Book Review is one of my favourite YA blogs, with thoughtful reviews and some excellent interviews and features.

Good guest blog. I'd have to agree with you about YA having a great potential for emotional writing. Those are some very angst-filled years.
Thanks re. the blog, too. I love writing from deep emotions.
I also read UF because I do love the combination of fantastic elements and beings side by side with the mundane. It's a combination that's hard not to like.
*sighs* I'm such a sucker for contests. So yeah I entered... XD
Anyways though it was a good post. I too like when a story has the impossible(like vampires and such) mixed with the normal and realistic events. I also like it when NOT Every story ends with a happy ending and/or people die. It just makes the story more believable. Scenes with emotion are also key so its a good thing you like writing them.
And thanks for reading it! Yes, I like endings to be a bit more challenging, sometimes. You're right, it can make the story more believable.
That RL stuff does get in the way sometimes, doesn't it (he says, finally getting back to checking lj very late in his day).
Stupid Real Life. *kicks Real Life*
