Is it July already?

Wonder Woman
I can't believe how quickly this year is passing. Does anyone else feel that way, or is it just me? Half the year is gone...

Life is very busy for me right now. The Day Job in particular is taking a lot of time/energy, but at least I managed to start revisions on BEAUTIFUL GHOSTS. I've changed a lot of it from 3rd to 1st-person POV (though I've stuck with the more traditional past tense) and it's working. I really like it. Maybe this book needed to be written in 3rd-person - I think I write best that way - but now I'm seeing how I can drop deeper into Moth's head with the POV switch. It's good. Although I still have a lot of work to do, especially on the ending.

Yesterday I posted a giveaway at the Deadline Dames. It ends on Saturday.

I've been reading a lot of Marjorie M. Liu stuff lately. I'm loving her prose; she writes so beautifully, while still telling kick-ass stories. Looking forward to getting my hands on her new release, Darkness Calls.

Other new releases I can't wait to read? Prey by Rachel Vincent, and City of Souls by Vicki Pettersson. There are many more... July is a great month for fantasy, urban or otherwise.

new reading
I'm glad you're changing Beautiful Ghosts to first person (purely selfish of me). I would have read it no matter what person it's in, but it just makes it better for me in first person, (yup, still selfish of me!) :)

I just posted on you contest site, (of course) BEFORE I read this post. When I finish the Demon's Librarian, I just don't know what to read first;
Prey
Darkness Calls
Mark of the Demon
Tekgrrl
Street Magic
Black and White
SteelFlower

or one of the other 75+ books in my TBR pile. I do have to pass on Prey to my soon-to-be 71 year old father. He loves Rachel Vincent's series.

I'm looking forward to seeing your books in my TBR pile, along with Phoenixfirewolf's books (crossing my fingers that she gets published soon)

I almost bought City of Souls, but I still haven't read the third zodiac book, it's in my TBR shelf, waiting for me. Hmm. This is why I have such a large TBR pile. I keep buying books obsessively, even though I haven't been able to concentrate on reading. Just want to let you know, it's taken me at least 4 years to build my TBR pile. (thinking about the cash value of these book, I am flabbergasted, especially now, that money is short. And I STILL creep to the bookstore, though I only buy 2 at a time now - or three - instead of five to eight books at a time.

Re: new reading
Dude, this is a blog post, not a comment! LOL. ;P

Thanks, though. I really love hearing about the books people are reading. OMG, I am totally telling Rachel that your father loves her series. She will be SO FREAKING HAPPY. :)

Thanks for the good thoughts, too. Oh! And I strongly suggest you read the 3rd Vicki P. book - I loved it.

Yeah, it's crazy how fast this year is going. I need it to SLOW down. Now. Preferrably before my b-day. :/

Wow, changing BG from 3rd to 1st-person POV sounds like a lot of work, but hey, if it's working for the story that's awesome.

OMG my TBR pile is huge and with so many great books coming out, it'll only get bigger.

Have a great day!

I need it to slow down, too! :) Oh god, when was your birthday again??

Yeah, it's been hard work but is coming together now. I still need to add a couple of new scenes, though. *sigh*

I love MML's Dirk and Steele series. The Iron Hunt has been sitting on my TBR pile for months now - really must get round to reading it soon!

I have only read 3 of the D & S books, but I intend to work my way through the rest of them now. I'm going to try not to buy so many books (I can't afford it at the moment) and read some of my HUGE TBR pile. :)

I can't believe it's July! Where has 2009 gone?

Marjorie Liu is amazing. Her books are a perfect mix of engrossing action and beautiful prose. It was one of her Dirk and Steele books that got me to start reading romances. :)

I agree, this year is going by much to fast in my opinion.

Re: no longer random commenter
*sigh* Yep. We need to come up with ways to slow down time. And then we would be rich! ;)
